A dirt road in the desert kicks up dust when it's dry, a truck passing by. But just on other side, there's an oasis that nobody asked for.
A monsoon storm brought the water into one Casa Grande home.
Mike and Irma Redondo woke up to the rain back on August 13th. They were evacuated but still thought they'd be able to return home the next day.
The bedroom and bathroom were destroyed, and two and a half weeks later the flood water still stands.
Mike is finally able to survey the damage. They've lost more than they can count inside. Mud is caked on to the floors like another layer of paint.
"It feels like I'm in an abandoned house and I'm just walking through."
Outside their cars sat idly by in the water, now they're totaled.
Nobody knows for sure why the water is still here. The couple believes it has something to do with a new gas line.
ABC15 contacted Pinal County who says they're still evaluating how to improve the draining system nearby.
Because they're not in a flood zone, Mike and Irma are in limbo with their insurance. At this rate, they don't know if they'll be able to return.
They are collecting funds to help with the damage.
