Maricopa police have arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with his grandmother's murder.
Police responded to a house near Smith Enke and Porter roads in Maricopa around 7:45 p.m. on Sunday for a call of unknown trouble.
When officers arrived, they found 62-year-old Vicky TenHoven in the kitchen of the home. The caller, her husband, also informed police that their 2016 blue Honda CRV was missing.
The woman had apparent signs of trauma, according to police.
Police say Marcos Martinez was originally wanted for questioning in connection with the murder.
At 1 a.m. on Tuesday, Martinez was located in an industrial area of Chandler in the stolen vehicle. He was taken into custody without incident.
According to police, from physical and biological evidence located on Martinez and in the vehicle, officers reached probable cause to arrest and book him into jail on charges of murder in the second degree.
Martinez is now awaiting extradition to Pinal County.
