Authorities say two people are dead and six others injured after a van and a truck collided in Gila Bend on State Route 85 just south of Interstate 8.
Maricopa County Sheriff's officials say some of the injured are children.
They say the two people killed in Friday afternoon's crash are adults.
Their names haven't been released and authorities didn't provide the ages of the children injured or their conditions.
Five of the injured were airlifted to hospitals with one taken by ground ambulance.
Sheriff's officials say investigators are looking into speed as a possible factor in the crash that occurred around 4 p.m.
They say the southbound ramp of State Route 85 was closed from I-8 for several hours for the investigation.
