MARICOPA, AZ — A dog is lucky to be alive after her owners were involved in a rollover crash on State Route 238 Friday morning
Maricopa Fire and Police responded to the crash just west of Maricopa around 11:15 a.m.
The accident was caused when one car was trying to pass but there wasn't enough room.
According to rescue crews, the victims of rollover were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries leaving behind several dogs in their car.
One of the dogs, Chloe, ran away after the accident. Firefighters and other agencies searched and searched, but were unable to locate her.
Crews went out back out Saturday morning to search for her some more. Fire crews found her nearby in brush but was too scared to let them approach her right away.
SR 238 was closed for a bit while crews tried to grab her and clean up the scene.
Another dog was also there at time of the crash and was taken by animal control from the scene safely.
