MARICOPA — A 19-year-old has died following a crash on the Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway near Farrell Road, according to the Maricopa Police Department.
Police say they received a call around 2:30 a.m. Saturday indicating a vehicle had crashed off the eastbound roadway. The witness allegedly told police the driver was unresponsive and had severe injuries.
The Maricopa Fire Department arrived shortly after police and pronounced the 19-year-old driver dead at the scene.
At this time, police are not releasing the name of the driver.
Medical examiners are working to determine if impairment was a factor in the crash, police say.
