MARICOPA — Arizona Department of Public Safety is investigating after a Maricopa police K-9 died from heat-related illness over the weekend.
Officials say Ike suffered a heat-related incident at about 5 p.m. on Friday, June 26 and he passed away on Saturday, June 27, at about 4 a.m.
Memorial services will be announced at a future date, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Officials say they are not able to release details involving this incident due to the pending investigation.
