I-8 re-opens after car fire shuts it down

Interstate 8 nearby Gila Bend has re-opened its westbound lanes after a car caught on fire Sunday shortly before noon. 

According to the Department of Public Safety, multiple cars collided at milepost 106; one car caught on fire. 

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office told ABC15 minor injuries were sustained by some involved in the incident. 

Fire crews were called out to help troopers. 

I-8 closed for several hours but reopened after 6 p.m.

No other information is currently known.
