Authorities say a Douglas police officer shot and wounded a man in a leg after the man's car was disabled and stopped following a chase.
Police say the incident late Thursday night ended about 15 miles northeast of Douglas on State Route 80 following the chase that began when the man didn't pull over for a traffic stop.
Circumstances of the shooting weren't immediately released and it's not known whether the man was armed.
Police used a tire-puncturing a device to end the pursuit.
Police said the shooting is being investigated by the Cochise County Sheriff's Office. An office spokeswoman didn't immediately respond to a call for comment Thursday.
The man's identity wasn't released but police say he's a 49-year-old Cochise County resident and being treated at a hospital.
