After locating a missing 17-year-old in San Tan Valley, the Pinal County Sheriff's Office has released more details about the young woman's disappearance.

Quin Johnson was reported missing on July 9 after she went out for a run around noon. The teen was found near Poston Butte High School almost 12 hours later.

After her discovery, detectives interviewed her.

Johnson told officials she was being followed by a vehicle while she was running near a farm field near the high school. The teen climbed onto the roof of the school to seek shelter, that's where she fell asleep and woke up later that evening. The teen then climbed off the roof and flagged down one of the searchers who were out looking for her.

Officials looked at surveillance video from the school and from nearby businesses and concluded that the teen was on the roof, and only on the roof, throughout her disappearance. She was not at nearby stores like some witnesses said.

Officials also said there was no evidence to support the teen's claim of being chased by a vehicle. The teen told detectives the car chased her into the parking lot of the school, but surveillance video does not support her claim.

PCSO said no crimes were committed.
