TUCSON, AZ — Pima County Sheriff’s officials say two suspected bank robbers have been arrested.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to two bank robberies Saturday afternoon in Tucson.

After the first robbery about 1 p.m., the suspects reportedly fled the scene in a vehicle.

One hour later, deputies responded to another report of a bank robbery at a different location.

An undisclosed amount of money was taken and the two suspects again fled the scene in a vehicle.

Deputies located a car matching the description of the suspect vehicle, did a traffic stop and took two men into custody.

Sheriff’s officials say 44-year-old Deangelo Dawson and 31-year-old Handy Velarde are jailed on suspicion of two counts of armed robbery.
