TUCSON, AZ — A Phoenix family found a way to make sure grandma was not forgotten this Easter Sunday.
Seventy-six-year-old Micky Grugman lives in an assisted living home in Tucson. It's Micky's first Easter without her husband, so her family decided to surprise her with a visit.
With nursing homes and senior living facilities locked down because of the COVID-19 pandemic, they were unable to go inside to give her a hug, but they made the most of it though a barrier of glass.
"Easter of all the holidays has been very special to us- between Easter egg hunts-- and candy and just spending the time as family," said her son Christian Krugman.
"It was just kind of upsetting because I couldn't really see her but I could see her--it was still nice that I got to see her and say hi," said Micky's granddaughter Noelle.
The Krugmans say they were just getting ready to move Micky closer to home right before the facility locked down because of the pandemic.
