Search teams are looking for a second day for a hiker reported missing in a popular Tucson hiking spot.

The Pima County Sheriff's Department says 28-year-old Mauricio Carreon-Maltos was last seen Friday morning by family members at his home.

He then left to go hiking in Sabino Canyon.

The called authorities that night.

Southern Arizona search and rescue teams as well as helicopters from county and state agencies have been conducting searches on the ground and in the air.

Family members told Tucson's KGUN-TV that he is not an experienced hiker.

Carreon-Maltos is described as Hispanic, 5-foot-6 and 160 pounds with black or brown hair and brown eyes.

He was seen wearing green camouflage shorts and Nike or Puma-style running shoes.
