Some people put their money in bank accounts, others under their mattresses, but one Mexican man trying to leave the U.S. hid his money in tortilla dough.
According to U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers, a Mexican national was at Arizona's Port of San Luis on Thursday when officers discovered $54,000 in unreported U.S. currency.
Where was it hidden?
The 54-year-old man put the money in two different bags of tortilla dough that were sitting in the back of a Honda inside an ice chest.
The man's vehicle, and money, were seized and given over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials.
People entering or leaving the U.S. are to report currency valued at $10,000 or more; failure to do so can result in money being seized.
No word on what happened to the tortilla dough; it looks like the man's plan was only half-baked. D'oh!
