Police: Teenage boy shot to death in Tucson while attempting robbery, 3 arrested

Police are investigating the death of a teenage boy in Tucson.

Johnathon Schmedding, 15, was shot and killed early Sunday morning near 28th Street and Van Buren Avenue, police said.

According to a news release, Johnathon Schmedding along with Julian Schmedding, Roy Lee Brown and Jesse King were attempting to rob four individuals when the victim was killed.

Johnathon Schmedding, Brown and King ran towards the four people and Brown allegedly fired several rounds, authorities said.

Jonathon Schmedding was struck by one of the bullets and was pronounced dead at the scene.

After the incident, Julian Schmedding and King are accused of trying to get rid of the handgun. However, they were stopped by officers and the handgun and other evidence was discovered, police said.

Roy Lee Brown, 25, and Julian Schmedding, 19, were booked into the Pima County Jail on charges of first degree murder, four counts of attempted armed robbery, four counts of aggravated robbery, prohibited possessor and tampering with evidence

Jesse King, 21, was booked into Pima County Jail on charges of first degree murder, four counts of attempted armed robbery, four counts of aggravated robbery and tampering with evidence.
