An officer-involved crash shut down a major intersection in Tucson on Wednesday morning.

Tucson Police Sgt. Michael Dietsch told ABC15's sister station, KGUN9, a female officer was traveling southbound on Craycroft when a black pick-up truck came up behind her.

Dietsch said speed was a factor as the black pick-up slammed into the back of the officer's car, flipping the black pick-up near 16th St. and Craycroft. The officer's patrol car was pushed into nearby landscape before coming to a stop.

The officer was taken to Tucson Medical Center with minor injuries. The driver of the pick-up was taken to Banner University Medical Center as a precaution.

Sgt. Dietsch said no charges have been filed yet, but the driver could be charged with criminal damage.
