TUCSON, AZ — A Tucson police officer has pleaded guilty to a sex crime against a suspect.

Officer Richard Daniel pleaded guilty to attempted unlawful sexual conduct as a police officer, a sixth-degree felony on the sex offender caseload.

According to court documents, Daniel asked a woman he was investigating for sexual favors on Jan. 13. She had an outstanding warrant for her arrest, and to avoid going to jail, she reportedly agreed to the sex acts.

The incident took place at the woman's apartment, and evidence was found there that matched Officer Daniel's DNA.

Daniel will be sentenced at 11 a.m. on June 17.
