YUMA, AZ — Yuma police have arrested a man after purposefully coughing on a gas pump.
Police say on Saturday at around 6 p.m. they received multiple reports of a video posted on social media of a man coughing on a gas pump handle. In the video, the man references the spreading of coronavirus.
After an investigation, the identified the man as a 23-year-old from Winterhaven, California. Officials say the man said he got the idea from other videos that were posted on the internet.
He is now facing charges of Unlawful Use of Infectious Biological Substance.
Police also say the man does not show any signs or symptoms for COVID-19.
