PD: AZ boy brings long rifle bullet to school

Police in Yuma were called in to investigate after a fifth-grade student brought long rifle bullets to his elementary school.

They say the student took .22-caliber bullets and handed them to two other fifth graders at H.L. Suverkrupt elementary school on Monday.

Police say no weapon was brought into the school and tboyhere was no threat to students or staff.

The juvenile told authorities that he found the bullets next to a trailer his grandmother has on their rental property.

Police contacted the tenant who thought he had disposed of the bullets.

He told police to destroy the rounds because he doesn't own a gun.

Police say the man consented to a search of his trailer and no weapons were found
