Authorities say a third firefighter was injured while fighting a brush fire near Yuma over the weekend.
On Friday, two State Forestry firefighters suffered burns after falling into an ash pit while battling the Laguna Fire which is burning just 14-miles northeast of Yuma.
One of the firefighters suffered 2nd- and 3rd-degree burns and remains hospitalized, officials said. The second firefighter was treated for burns but is now out of the hospital.
According to officials, a third firefighter suffered minor burns on Saturday while battling the same brush fire. He was hospitalized but has since been released.
Two of the firefighters are part of the State Forestry's Phoenix Crew, while the third firefighter is a member of the State Forestry and the Department of Corrections' Yuma Crew. Their names have not been released.
The Laguna Fire sparked March 15 and has reached 15-acres. It remains under investigation.
