ANTHEM, AZ — The pandemic is forcing students and teachers to re-imagine the school year. Even more so when you are a high school choir.
The Boulder Creek High School choir is making it work by taking their annual holiday celebration virtual.
The students spent most of the semester perfecting their technique on Zoom, and only had two weeks of in-person rehearsals before recording.
All those involved wore masks, practiced outside school hours, used a variety of locations on campus, and had several other safety measures in place.
"Now this is something that the students have that they can show their children, and their grandchildren, and say 'This is what I did when we had to make lemonade out of lemons,'" said BCHS Choir Director Kirk Douglas.
The "Share the Light" celebration will have three showings.
The big debut is Thursday, December 17 at 7:00 p.m., with encores on Friday, December 18, at 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
