Authorities are investigating a deadly crash on Interstate 17 Friday afternoon north of Phoenix.
A spokesperson for Arizona Department of Public Safety said a pickup hauling a trailer left the roadway on northbound Interstate 17 at milepost 238 around 2:30 p.m. and flipped over.
The driver died at the scene, said DPS. The person's identity was not released.
One lane was closed which caused a nine mile backup. Both lanes have since reopened, but it will take some time for the backup
