A family of five is safe after being stranded in the middle of the desert overnight.

MCSO deputies along with Phoenix police and Bartlett Lake deputies located an adult woman, her three young children and her 16-year-old sister near Interstate 17 and Table Mesa Road early Tuesday morning.

Deputies say woman's boyfriend called authorities after the family did not return from a trip to Seven Springs. The woman told authorities her vehicle got stuck on Forest Road 41 and they decided to stay in the car overnight until morning when they could walk to an area with better phone reception.

Authorities say all five were injury free and did not require medical attention.
