Heading north out of town this weekend? Plan for a long commute. The Arizona Department of Transportation says travel on the I-17 northbound and SR87 northbound out of the Valley are heavily delayed because of travelers.

ADOT says plan ahead and expect a much longer drive than normal if you're taking either either the I-17 or SR 87 north.

ADOT said the majority of slowing had eased by Saturday afternoon.
