CAVE CREEK, AZ — A runner in Cave Creek was rescued from an abandoned mine shaft overnight.
Officials say a woman headed out on a long run around noon on Sunday.
She reportedly called her father at some point to tell him she would be late, but when darkness fell, her father called Maricopa County Sheriff's Office for help.
MCSO was able to track her cell phone and pinged it to a location near Spur Cross and Honda Bow roads. She was found in an abandoned mine shaft with a rattlesnake.
Crews were able to rescue the woman who, fortunately, didn't suffer any major injuries.
