The Waste Management Phoenix Open will tee off in late January but preparations and construction to build the "Greatest Show on Grass" is just starting now.

Bleacher construction has started on holes 12, 16, 17 and 18. The famous 16th hole will house more than 3,700 bleacher seats with an estimated 16,000 fans expected to watch from just the 16th hole.

Hole 17 will house about 600 bleacher seats at the cove and the 18th tee will be home to just about 250 bleacher seats. New for the 2019 Waste Management Phoenix Open, the 12th hole will feature an 18,000 square foot platform for general admission ticket holders and increased amenities, like the El Rancho & Craft Beer Haus to elevate the fan experience. 2019 Tournament Chairman, Chance Cozby says one of their goals is to get fans to head deeper into the course and explore more of the open.

"We're going to be talking a lot about number 12 and that El Rancho structure, to move people a little bit deeper into the golf course and realize that there's more to our course than 16, 17 and 18."

It will take four months to build and three months to take down all temporary structures and tents for fans, players, tournament operations and logistics. The Waste Management Phoenix Open is January 28 - February 3, 2019 at TPC Scottsdale.
