SCOTTSDALE, AZ — Police say a suspected drunk driver was arrested after they struck and seriously injured a pedestrian Wednesday night.
Emergency crews were called to the scene near 68th Street and Thomas Road around 9 p.m.
Scottsdale police say the driver was heading northbound when his vehicle struck the woman who crossing 68th Street mid-block.
The woman was transported to the hospital with life threatening injuries. police say.
"The driver remained on scene and was later arrested for DUI," according to Scottsdale Sgt. Ben Hoster.
68th Street was closed from Thomas to Osborn Road during the police investigation.

The victim and driver are not being identified at this time.
