SCOTTSDALE, AZ — Police say two people have died and two others are injured after a three-vehicle collision in north Scottsdale Sunday afternoon.
The collision occurred near Pima and Pinnacle Peak roads at around 3:45 p.m.
Police say 48-year-old Roel Vera was driving one of the vehicles involved and died in the collision. There is no indication that impairment was a factor.
87-year-old Walter Scurei was a passenger in one of the other vehicles involved. He was taken to the hospital and later died from his injuries.
Two others were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
The cause of the collision is currently under investigation.
