SCOTTSDALE, AZ — A 24-year-old woman has died after being struck by a car in Scottsdale early Saturday morning.
The incident happened around 1:45 a.m. near 68th Place and Thomas Road.
Police say Jesena Andoney of Canada was riding in a golf cart with a group of people when one of the women on the vehicle dropped her phone in the street.
When Andoney got out of the cart to retrieve the phone, she was struck by a pickup truck traveling westbound on Thomas Road.
Andoney was taken to the hospital where she later died from her injuries.
Authorities say the driver stayed on scene and is cooperating with police. Speed and impairment were not factors in the collision, according to Phoenix Police Sgt. Brian Reynolds.
