The Scottsdale Police Department is investigating after someone received a letter with a suspicious powder inside.

A police spokesperson said a man came into the police station near 90th Street and Via Linda around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday and reported receiving a letter Monday that contained white powder substance.

The man put the letter and powder in a plastic bag. The bag is being treated as a hazardous material of unknown origin, though police said the man did not appear to be suffering any symptoms.

The letter and powder will be taken to the state crime lab and tested for common biohazards, police said.
