A woman suffered a medical condition Wednesday while driving in Scottsdale which caused her vehicle to hit a pole.
Scottsdale Police Sgt. Ben Hoster said the woman in her 70s was driving northbound on Scottsdale Road approaching Indian School when she had a seizure, swerved across the southbound lanes and hit a pole at the intersection.
She was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, he said.

Scottsdale Road was closed in both directions and reopened around noon.
