SCOTTSDALE, AZ — A mama raccoon needed a helping hand after getting stuck in wet cement.
Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center workers came to her aid as she was struggling to free herself from the fast-drying sealant.
Vet techs used electric razors to get the cement off and were left with a hairless, dusty white raccoon.
Workers soaked the raccoon in warm vinegar water to help soothe her skin. They soon discovered she was an older female who had raised babies.
SWCC officials say she needs time and good medical care to recover - and they will give her both.
