SCOTTSDALE, AZ — A 57-year-old Scottsdale man has been arrested on multiple counts of sexual exploitation and sexual conduct with a minor.
Officials received a tip on Thursday from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding a suspect who uploaded hundreds of pictures and videos of the man sexually exploiting children.
Police determined that the suspect, Mitchell Mielke, was in Scottsdale and the criminal activity took place at his home.
Many of the files involved sexual contact with a 3-year-old girl. Officials contacted the victim's family and learned that Mielke had been helping watch and care for the child once a week for more than a year.
Police arrested Mielke Thursday evening outside of his home without incident.
He is facing numerous counts of sexual conduct with a minor and sexual exploitation of a minor.
