Road work is expected to last into Thursday evening to fix a water main break at a busy Scottsdale intersection.
They city says a 12-inch pipe burst at Shea and 64th Street Wednesday afternoon flooding the road in all directions.
Three hundred feet of road along Shea has to be fixed.
The city says there wasn’t any construction happening in the area so it's likely just old piping that gave out. There is a capital improvement program to improve aging infrastructure but city officials say pipe breaks are unpredictable.
As of Friday morning, Scottsdale Police say only one eastbound lane is open. Drivers are asked to avoid the area.
