$5k reward offered after 4 horses found shot, killed in northern Arizona

SPRINGERVILLE, Ariz. — Authorities are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons responsible for shooting and killing four horses in northern Arizona.

Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest officials say on Thursday, officers responded to reports of dead horses on the Black Mesa Ranger District, outside of the Heber Wild Horse Territory.

Officials say necropsies performed on all four horses showed the animals were shot to death.
