Flagstaff police: Man dead after being found on fire

FLAGSTAFF, AZ — Police are investigating a suspicious death after a man was found on fire Monday afternoon in Flagstaff.

Flagstaff police Sgt. Cory Runge said officers responded to the area near Route 66 and Fourth Street around 3:30 p.m. after receiving reports of a fire.

Upon arrival, the first responding officer reportedly discovered a man was on fire. The flames were extinguished and the man was pronounced dead.

Runge said the man has been identified as 66-year-old Ben Iravani of Flagstaff.

The manner and cause of Iravani's death is pending investigation by the Coconino County Medical Examiner's Office.
