A Valley teacher has been reported missing in Flagstaff.
According to the Flagstaff Police Department, 44-year-old Cathryn Gorospe was last seen in the area on Friday.
Gorospe was rarely without her dog Sunshine, which is why it's not like her to take off for days at a time without telling anyone, her roommate told ABC15 Monday.
Her father Raymond Gorospe is also baffled.
"Everybody misses her so much right now. We just want her back home safe," he said.
Gorospe is a kindergarten teacher at Arrowhead Elementary, and a popular one by all accounts.
"Absolutely. They all call her Miss G. At the end of the year when it was time to change classes, they cried when they found out they couldn't come back to her class," Cathryn's father said.
Her roommate Jacqueline Gutierrez said Gorospe left Friday saying she'd be back later.
By Sunday afternoon when Gutierrez couldn't reach her, she called police.
On Monday, police said Gorospe was seen at the jail in Flagstaff on Friday. They haven't said why she was there. She worked a second job at the railway in Williams, but Gutierrez said she doesn't believe her roommate was working this past weekend.
"She loved the Grand Canyon, she loved getting off the train during the three-hour break. She just walked up and down the South Rim and walked the trails there. She was passionate about the Grand Canyon and her dog," her father said.
Gorospe's family is flying in from California, hoping to retrace her steps to find out where she is.
She is described as Caucasian, 5 feet 5 inches, and weighing 150 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes.
If you have any information on the whereabouts of Gorospe, you are asked to call Flagstaff police at (928) 774-1414.
