Flagstaff schools closed Wednesday due to winter weather

FLAGSTAFF — Winter weather in the high country is affecting school schedules.

Flagstaff Unified School District schools will be closed on Wednesday due to weather conditions.

Blue Ridge Unified School District schools were canceled after first being placed on a two-hour delay.

After Flagstaff received a few inches of snow Tuesday, National Weather Service meteorologists say between 8 inches to 12 inches of snow is predicted to fall on the area by Wednesday.

They say the North Rim of the Grand Canyon could get up to 16 inches of snow.

The weather service forecasts wind gusts in Williams, Flagstaff and Winslow to range between 40 mph and 46 mph with wind-chill factors of 3 degrees in Flagstaff and minus 3 on the North Rim.
