FLAGSTAFF, AZ — A wrong-way driver was arrested after a crash in Flagstaff early Thursday morning.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a crash occurred along eastbound I-40 near the I-17 junction around 3:20 a.m.
Initial reports say an SUV driven by 48-year-old Everytt Begay from Crownpoint, NM, was headed westbound in the eastbound lanes near Butler Road when it crashed head-on with a commercial vehicle.
The driver of the commercial vehicle did not suffer any injuries, DPS says.
Begay suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital. He was released and booked into Coconino County jail on aggravated DUI and endangerment charges.
