Winter weather is coming to much of northern Arizona this weekend.
The National Weather Service says the first wave expected Saturday night and Sunday morning will be following by more intensive conditions Sunday afternoon through Monday morning.
Blowing and drifting snow is possible and forecasters say driving conditions will deteriorate rapidly Sunday afternoon and evening.
Forecasters say the period of heaviest snow is forecast from late Sunday night into early Monday morning.
According to the weather service, snow accumulations are expected to total 1 to 4 inches between 5,500 and 6,500 feet and 3 to 6 inches above 6,500 feet.
Flagstaff is expected to get 4 to 6 inches, Show Low 2 to 4 inches and Prescott 1 to 2 inches.
