Snowy conditions in Flagstaff have caused area schools to shut down on Friday.
Flagstaff Unified School District announced early Friday that schools would be closed for the day due to weather conditions.
ABC15 Meteorologist Iris Hermosillo says about six and a half inches of snow fell overnight with more falling as of 6:30 a.m.
Arizona Department of Transportation's plows are out on roadways working to clear snow, but drivers are encouraged to drive safely and take precautions on slick roads.
