PARKER, AZ — La Paz County Sheriff’s Department says explosive devices were found at a riverside campground area near Parker, Arizona, over the weekend.
Campers at Castle Rock Campground reported hearing an explosion one night but didn’t know where it came from.
La Paz County officials say it appears that an unknown person "was taping (the equivalent of), 1/4 sticks of dynamite to rocks and throwing them in the river."
Sheriff’s officials, Buckskin Fire Department and volunteers searched the shoreline Sunday to find any other devices. Two undetonated devices were located and removed without incident.
At this time, it's unclear if the sheriff's department has any suspects in custody or if they are searching for anyone in connection to the explosives.
No injuries were reported.
