An investigation is underway after a high-speed boat crash at Lake Havasu killed two men and critically injured a woman Saturday afternoon.
According to the Mohave County Sheriff's Office, several Good Samaritans reported that a boat had crashed in the South Basin of Lake Havasu near the Contact Point Water Safety Center around 12:30 p.m.
Officials say Good Samaritans had pulled two men and one woman out of the water and were administering CPR to the two men. MCSO deputies took the three victims into patrol boats and took them to the Point Water Safety Center where Lake Havasu City emergency responders conducted life-saving measures.
The three were taken to the Havasu Regional Medical Center where the two men were pronounced deceased, and the woman was listed in extremely critical condition.
MCSO officials have identified the two men as 57-year-old Brad Kloepfer, who was operating the boat, and 69-year-old Paul Selberg. The injured woman has been identified as 58-year-old Connie Davis Kloepfer.
Investigators determined that all three were wearing life jackets and the operator was wearing his safety kill switch. It was also determined that high-speeds were a contributing factor in this crash, deputies say.
The crash is still under investigation.
