Winter weather alerts in the high country are bringing some bad driving conditions on many main roadways.
FORECAST: Winter weather alerts, more light rain possible
The Arizona Department of Transportation has been busy on Twitter Saturday morning putting out alerts for those traveling, especially near Prescott, Flagstaff and Holbrook.
TRAFFIC: Check current road conditions
Additionally, the Arizona Department of Public Safety says several crashes have been reported on I-40 and I-17 overnight.
A crash before 6 a.m. closed westbound lanes of I-40 a few miles west of Holbrook. One lane reopened around 3 a.m. There is no estimated time to reopen the full roadway, but ADOT is asking drivers to delay travel due to the blocked route and driving conditions.

A four-wheel drive and chains alert has also been issued for parts of SR-288.
ADOT plows are busy on SR-87 where heavy snowfall has caused at least one vehicle to slide off the road.
The road that's been most slippery & had the most crashes is SR 87, roughly between Strawberry & Winslow, mileposts 279-311. It's open #azwx
