A man who admitted to killing an Arizona woman in a Kentucky hotel room was taken into custody by police over the weekend.
On Saturday, officers in Florence, Kentucky, were called to a hotel room at a Home 2 Suites where 26-year-old Amanda D. Webster was found unresponsive.
Webster, police say, was from Cameron, Arizona.
Police say the room was rented by a 32-year-old Kentucky man named Jesse A. James.
A few hours after police discovered Webster inside the hotel room, officers were called to a nearby area where a man was “acting strangely.” He gave responding officers two false names and was arrested for giving false information.
Investigators determined that the man was James, the man who had rented the hotel room, and interviewed him regarding the woman’s death.
James reportedly admitted to killing Webster early Saturday morning.
James was booked into jail on charges of murder, tampering with physical evidence, identity theft and giving false information.
