If your weekend plans take you along S.R. 89, expect some delays as ADOT plans to implode an old bridge.
The 62-year-old bridge over Hell Canyon no longer met state and federal design for large vehicles, so crews built a brand new bridge in its place.
The new Hell Canyon Bridge carries about 3,400 vehicles each day.
ADOT began taking apart the old bridge in August, but the next step will be an implosion technique that allows the bridge collapse onto itself.
Drivers should expect up to 30 minutes of delays on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
To get around the delays, drivers can use I-17 and I-40 through Flagstaff.
