The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office is investigating after human remains were found in a shed near Wittmann on Monday.
Officials said homicide detectives discovered bone and skull fragments somewhere in Whispering Ranch. A specific location was not released, and it is unclear whether the remains are that of a man or woman.
Authorities said a family brought a skull to the Wittmann Fire District and led investigators to where they found it.
