The town of Snowflake was told to seek shelter on Monday afternoon after a tornado warning was issued.
A strong storm moved west through Snowflake and Taylor, Arizona around 4:45 p.m.
A funnel cloud was reported and a tornado warning was issued at 4:48 p.m. The warning expired at 5 p.m.
Shortly after, the National Weather Service in Flagstaff shared two viewer photos of the apparent tornado.

However, on Tuesday, the NWS said it received additional viewer photos and determined that the funnel was not a tornado, but a gustnado. They shared a graphic explaining what a gustnado was.
