Authorities say a man on lifetime probation for attempting to molest a child has been arrested for sexually assaulting a woman.
The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office says deputies responded to a home in the Congress area last week where a woman in her 50s said she had been sexually assaulted by a man in July.
Deputies said the suspect, 59-year-old Charles Pierce, is an acquaintance of the victim and came over for an unannounced visit. After a brief conversation, YCSO says Pierce started molesting the victim before forcing her into another room and sexually assaulting her.

Yavapai County says Pierce admitted to sexual contact with the victim, including details she initially provided to law enforcement. He was arrested at his home in Stanton, east of Congress, and booked on three counts of sexual assault and one count of sexual abuse.
He is being held without bond.
Pierce is on lifetime probation as a sex offender for being previously convicted for attempted molestation of a child. According to the Arizona Department of Corrections, Pierce was convicted in August 1989 and sentenced to 15 years in prison. He was released in 2004.
