PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ — The owners of a Prescott Valley horse racing track have found new investors and plan on resuming live races in July after shutting down operations in June.

Arizona Downs, located 90 miles north of Phoenix, only was open for a few weeks in its first year back in operation before announcing June 21 it would have to close down for the rest of the season due to financial woes.

But the track’s owners – a group of Phoenix-based real estate brokers – said on July 1 that they have found additional investors to fund purses for races distributed through Labor Day.

Besides the fact that there is a group of new investors, Arizona Downs ownership did not reveal much about who is behind the new financing.

Read more about the track from the Phoenix Business Journal.
