Over 800 students are participating in the 16th annual Arizona Wildfire and Incident Management Academy in Prescott.
The academy kicked off on March 10 at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott. 888 students from 23 states and Canada are registered to take over 50 wildfire-related classes.
The students will take part in classes for chain saws, public information, logistics and fire behavior analysis. One hundred students are enrolled in basic firefighter training for entry level firefighters.
Over 9,000 students have received training at the academy since it began.
